Ο Leung Kar-Yan γνωστός και ως Bryan Leung, είναι ηθοποιός και σκηνοθέτης του κινηματογράφου και της τηλεόρασης του Χονγκ Κονγκ, έχει εμφανιστεί σε πολλές γνωστές ταινίες πολεμικών τεχνών του Χονγκ Κονγκ, και είναι αναγνωρίσιμος στους οπαδούς των ταινιών του Χονγκ Κονγκ για τις εμφανίσεις του με τα γένια που είναι το σήμα κατατεθέν του.
Γεννήθηκε στις 20 Ιανουαρίου 1948 στο Χονγκ Κονγκ, η καριέρα του ξεκίνησε το 1969. Η καλή του εμφάνιση και ο φυσικός του αθλητισμός τον οδήγησαν στο Shaw Brothers, όπου εμφανίστηκε σε πολλές διάσημες ταινίες κουνγκ φου εκείνης της εποχής, συνεργαζόμενος σε κάποιες από αυτές με τον διάσημο σκηνοθέτη Chang Cheh, σπάνια όμως του προσφέρθηκαν πρωταγωνιστικοί ρόλοι.
Παρά το γεγονός ότι είναι ένα από τα πιο γνωστά πρόσωπα στον κινηματογράφο δράσης του Χονγκ Κονγκ, δεν είχε εκπαιδευτεί ποτέ στις πολεμικές τέχνες, βασιζόμενος στο ταλέντο του και στον μιμητισμό απομνημόνευε τις κινήσεις που του έδειχναν οι σκηνοθέτες δράσης.
H αναγνώριση ήρθε υπό τις οδηγίες του Sammo Hung, με τον οποίο πολέμησε στο "Enter the Fat Dragon" (1978) και συμπρωταγωνίστησε στη σημαντική ταινία της καριέρας του "Warriors Two" (1978). Η ερμηνεία του στο "Warriors Two", ως κύριος Chan, ιστορικός γιατρός της πραγματικής ζωής και κύριος του Wing Chun, περιγράφεται ως «η καλύτερη ερμηνεία της καριέρας του» από τον Mark Pollard του κινηματογράφου Kung Fu.

Συνέχισε να συνεργάζεται με τον Sammo Hung, επιτυγχάνοντας περαιτέρω επιτυχία με μια σειρά από κωμωδίες kung-fu, συμπεριλαμβανομένου του "Knockabout" (1979) όπου είχε συμπρoταγωνιστικό ρόλο μαζί με τον Yuen Biao.
To 1981 ξεκίνησε την συνεργασία του με τον διάσημο σκηνοθέτη, και χορογράφο πολεμικών τεχνών Yuen Woo-Ping στην ταινία "Dreadnaught" (1981) όπου έπαιξε τον μαθητή του Wong Fei-Hung (όπου υποδύθηκε ο ο βετεράνος σταρ του kung-fu Kwan Tak-Ηing.) Στην συνέχεια συνέχισε την συνεργασία του με τον Yuen Woo-Ping σε αρκετές γνωστές ταινίες όπως "Legend of a Fighter" (1982) και "The Miracle Fighters" (1982).
Από το 1969 μέχρι σήμερα ο Leung Kar-Yan έχει εμφανιστεί σε περισσότερες από 150 ταινίες, έχει σκηνοθετήσει 10 ταινίες και έχει χορογραφήσει τις σκηνές πολεμικών τεχνών σε 4 ταινίες.
